The Importance Of Choosing The Right Sponsor by Bob Ullman
This article will tackle the importance of joining a good sponsor when connecting with a multilevel marketing company, home business or network marketing company. There are thousands of good organizations to choose from, but I believe that the group and mentor that you align with is as crucial or more important than the choice of a company although I don't want to lower the value of joining the right company.
I now have been in this industry for about 1.5 years and have been involved with both excellent sponsors and ineffective sponsors. A good sponsor should be able to function as a mentor in teaching and presenting a simple system to follow in order to achieve success. This can make all the difference in the world.Some leaders in the industry have achieved success but prefer a very hands off approach to growing their business. For instance I know one leader that has amassed a list of over 300,000 prospects and based on sheer numbers can get many people to follow him into a new business. The problem is that once they have done so despite having somewhat of a well crafted written system for success, he will be extremely difficult to contact and almost never return a call. His attitude to this business is to constantly bring in more new members to his companies than are leaving. This may give him financial success but will alienate many members that are looking for some personal contact. Strangely enough in the earlier days of multilevel marketing this was unheard of and people went seriously tried to create close relationships with their recruits. Today in the age of using the internet to build a business this is a fairly common experience. I have personally witnessed this happening even with a program that cost $4000 to join. I have actually witnessed situations where as soon as the check had cleared the sponsor wanted nothing to do with the new member. I have tried to take the opposite approach and people are always so appreciative.Zig Ziglar said "If you help enough people get what they want in life, you will get everything that you want." I believe this to be true.
My advice would be to make sure that you always contact you prospective sponsor before joining a particular program. Do ot concern yourself with the hype of acting fast. Take time to do your due diligence and particularly make sure there is some chemistry there between you and your prospective sponsor. if not search for another leader and always try to find someone with the skills that you do not possess. This way you will attain the skills that you lack.
I have tried to conduct my business in a way that keeps me in touch with people that join forces with me and lets them know that I will always be there for them. I am finding that most people in this industry really appreciate that approach and are happy to align themselves with someone that they feel is a real person and will either answer their phone or return calls or emails.
I have a long history of sales success and have been enjoying applying my skills to this industry.
