Elements of exterior detailing include claying, polishing, and waxing. They first start with claying it is a mixture of clay base and various mild abrasives that is used to remove paint contamination, it does not remove the clear coat if done correctly. They will then polish your vehicle to remove oxidation, swirls, scratches, water deposits, and other imperfections from the paint. It is used to remove surface imperfections. Waxing is done last. Interior detailing involves the cleaning of the interior of a vehicle using vacuums, liquid cleaners, and brushes. The interior will be cleaned like normal and then also spot cleaned in areas that are soiled. A protective coat will also be used on the dash and other vinyl or leather areas. They will usually ask if you would like a scent added to your vehicle and you can choose what you think will make your vehicle smell the best!
There is also another form of detailing that is not standard, but that you can ask for. It is engine detailing and it involves cleaning the engine bay area of dirt and grease by using degreasers and all-purpose cleaners.
Since there are so many places that perform auto detailing you will want to make sure that you choose a shop that provides a great quality of work. You may want to ask around to see that they have a good reputation and also ask to see examples of their work and what they can do. You also want to use a shop that uses quality detailing products that will last and do a great job. Auto detailing is mostly affordable but for rates you can ask for a prices estimate.
